Anybody have a jetboat?

I'll be in the market for one in about 6 months. I'm looking for one from the 70s-80s with either a 454 or 460. I don't really know much about them but I've noticed they're cheap on craigslist. I live in Tulsa so I have my fair share of lakes including Grand lake.

So if anybody has any information about these or wants to sell one let me know. Anybody know the factory horsepower number on either of these engines?

A freind of mine has a Taylor with a Ford 460 and Berkley pump, it hauls ass and is a fun time at the lake. Its like a jetski but for a few people. Can't really do much of anything else though.

Pros - Fun, easy to get in and out of the lake, easy to take care of, tunes ups and oil changes are a breeze, parts are easy to come by, chicks dig the fuck out of it and will take off their clothes for a ride.

Cons - Gas guzzler, 2-4 ppl max, loud as fuck even with quiet exhaust, lake cops like to fuck with you, ppl in general will complain at small lakes.

Does that boat handle rough chop? If I take it on grand there are boats in excess of 50 feet. That's a huge wake!

Don't get a flat bottom one if you want to use it in any kind of rough water. I've got a buddy with a Taylor and it rides decent (for a jet boat) in choppy water. Another friend has a flat bottom V-drive from the early 70's and it will beat your ass to death lol. If all you want to do is haul ass around the lake there is nothing better than a jet boat to get the most bang for your buck.
