it will be covered Jerm. sucks bro. i got my truck broken into a few years ago on July 4th. filed under homeowners, they "pro-rate" the stuff, then cut you another check for the difference when you show the receipt that you purchased the item again.

My cars got hit several times in apartments.
I foolishly never had renter's insurance when living in apartments.

That definitely sucks. This is the main reason I don't carry mine as much as I would like. You should make a report just in case it shows up in a pawn shop. I don't leave anything in my vehicle, let alone anything in plain view.
You could have an empty laptop case in your car and it would get you broken into because the thief has no idea if there is a $3k laptop or nothing at all.
A couple of months ago one of my guys worked a burglary (of vehicle) that the guy had an envalope with $5k in cash in the console.
If a thief breaks into your car, it costs him nothing if he gets nothing.

Weird thing is a coworker noticed his window trim being broken last night when he got home, he parked a few cars behind me and had nothing worth stealing in his truck. Instead of actually just breaking the window, they tried to pry the window trim out of the way for some reason, fucking dumb.
