While you're down there, swing by the field and kick Mack in the balls for me...

If they weren't in Mizzou i would give it a try

From the November issue of Austin Magazine...

Best Burger - Hopdoddy - on South Congress

Casual Dining - Taco More - North Austin

                  Brew-Pub - Black Star Co-op - off Lamar, south of 183

                  Austin Original BBQ - Ruby's BBQ - 29th street

                  BBQ - Franklin's - 11th street

Chips and Queso - Torchy's - any of them (green chile queso, it is pretty awesome)

Tacos - Taco Deli - Mopac and Barton Springs area - (I went by there to try it one Sunday morning and it was packed, cars all the way down the street, so I'll go back another day)

Pizza - The Backspace - 6th and San Jacinto

Diner - The Frisco Shop - Burnet Road south of 183

I'm glad I didn't start this thread without looking first, but I'm also heading down to Austin this weekend...I would rather be hunting, but the gf wanted me to go.
                    Wanna see my care face???

Hopdoddy is overrated, IMO. Tasty enough, but I'm not a fan of gourmet burgers. K.I.S.S. when it comes to burgers.

Black Star: not bad at all.

                      Torchy's: HELL yes!

                      The Frisco Shop: excellent food!

Those are the only ones on the list that I've been to.

I can't believe no mention of Magnolia or Kerbey Ln in that mag. I've never been to the Frisco Shop though.

This was the BEST OF Austin list.

                          FWIW - Kerby Lane sucks.

Ok, it's average drunk food, but I have yet to have anything there that is "great". I would go to any other place before I go back to Kerby Lane.

We went to the one where Jenn's brother works last weekend when they were in town, and it was ... alright. It's the original on Kerby Ln.

A few weeks ago I went to the one on William Cannon/Mopac, and it was just alright. A few months ago we went to the one on Lamar, and it was decent.

And Guadalupe? It's the only one I go to anymore, and it's only breakfast.

I have eaten there a few times and got the Migas every time. They were good, but i wouldn't say anything i saw there looked great. I'm bored, i need to take a trip down there.

haven't been to that one yet, but if 3 out of the 4 weren't great, I really don't feel like driving to that one.

The only reason we went to the original was because Treasure Chest's brother works there, and her and Muffrazr were here. Oh and it was like 2am.
