I just signed up for the safety course next Saturday. Will be going deer hunting week after Thanksgiving in Arkansas. Pretty stoked...lol. Never been hunting. Will get the deer license when I get there.

Want to make a Cheap Deer Stand? - $150 (Lewisville, TX)

I am down to my last couple of storage boxes. These would be easy to convert to a deer stand. Cut out some windows and throw some tin on the top and you are good to go. They weigh roughly 350 lbs and are 5ft wide by 8ft long by 7ft tall.

        They are only $150 CASH

I have a forklift to load you on site.

Call me @ (972) 436-7498 anytime between 8am to 6pm Central time, Monday through Friday.

That's a damn good deal. I spent about 300 building mine ( windows screws. Paint all that stuff included)

3? Damn! I had about 3 in mind, but it turned out to more like 750.

Rut is on in Kansas. I so wish I had a bow. I've got to wait a few more weeks for rifle.

Got a 10 point and decent Turkey opening day. Next few trips will be does and varmints, would not mind another turkey...

I'm a gun guy, I really enjoy shooting and working on guns. My in-laws, however, are hunters. The difference in my mind being that they like hunting and guns are incidental to that (for the most part). Anyway, the wife would rather not pay for ground beef, so for the past 2 seasons I have gotten into hunting with her dad, brother, uncle, and grandpa. I'm in it purely for the meat at this point, and since they don't ask me to pay towards the lease fee I'm only looking for doe.

Me with my first deer, a decent sized doe. Taken on the morning hunt of opening day, 2011.

Free public deer hunting areas in texas?! Just curious. The farther out/isolated the better. Any recommendations?! I found a lot of dove and archery spots for deer so far.
