If it was to be my private track, then yes. If it was to be a public track, then hell no! Too much BS to deal with when going public...
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776
That would be a kickass retirement location for a bachelor.
But it's in Odessa.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.
I would love to see a 24 hr weekend drag strip to basically host the street races... I know it would never happen due to the gambling and thugs but it would give the young sport car enthusiast something to do that.
Yeah I know where it is, I use to live in West Odessa. Been to Penwell many of times.

I think I spent almost every weekend out there from around 2001-04 or so, those were the good old days. As long as you put your beer in the cupholder at the starting line you were good to go lol.
When Larry W. was told The track would possibly be part of a punitive damage settlement, his exact words were, "What in the corn bread f%€k am I going to do with that piece of sh*t car runway?". I can't exactly describe how Texas his accent is. He sounds alot like Yosimite Sam.
If it weren't for the gutter, my mind would be homeless.
Owning a dragstrip is like owning any other all cash business that you can leverage, you can have trashbags full of money on hand but on paper it never makes a dime and when you are done fucking with it you just hand the keys to the bank.

What's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?
