I've got $5k total invested in it. New motor, all new belts, hoses, radiator, barf bottle, rebuilt tranny, new wheels/tires (5), bed cover, tint, and the A/C blows 42 degrees on a 100 degree day.

The very first day he asked to pick up his G/F from school and take her home. I called her parents and asked permission, and they said it woulf be OK.

It was taking him longer to get home than expected, so I called him. His GF answered the phone and said they were taking "Seth" home.

When the DPS employee handed him his license, she also handed him a piece of paper that said that he could not have more than one passenger that was not a family member. His GF and "Seth" made two, so he was in violation of the terms of his license the very first full day he had it.

The next morning he went out to the truck to find the brake pedal chained to the steering wheel with a padlock. I drove him to school.

I told him the next screw up I was putting the truck on Craig's list.

My insurance just went up $1k every 6 months because of him. I'm not jacking around when it comes to responsibility.

If he looks a gift horse in the mouth, he can work for his own vehicle and insurance.

I'm glad to hear there are those that still parent these days. Many more kids need this type of reality check or they'll suffer later on in life. One day he'll look back and thank you for doing that.
