We have cows regularly get out on the farm road where I live. They always seem to be solid black, on blind curve and when there is no moon. The sheriff acts like it's no big deal. I don't think anyone has run over one yet. I'm sure that cow could have been corralled without having to shoot it.

So, you're saying that the cattle couldn't have been led off to the side of the road? I've herded cattle before, it's pretty easy as they tend to just stand there and eat grass. The cops clearly acted stupidly and we don't have both sides of the story.

That said. 10 times for 1 cow? Damn. Take their weapons and make them re-certify.
