It's to the point where I am considering going to Dish because of it.
the slow remote thing is something that i've noticed, but only since they've gone to this new menu. it must be taking up too much memory on the receiver or something like that.

      SLOW remote

DVR has little storage space and now we are having issues with watching recorded shows. We get an error that the show is unauthorized to watch..?

Expensive and rising every couple billing cycles.

No issues with the channels or internet really. Very reliable, great quality HD tv. We had Time Warner and they were horrible!!!!

Hmm, never had the Unauthorized message. Do you maybe have that Parental Control turned on so it thinks you are too young, LOL!

I just got a letter a few weeks ago my contract was up, so I renewed for another year so the price is locked in.

I also went to Newegg.com and got an ESATA drive, 1 TB (HD DVR has a 200 gig drive) and hookup was easy as pie, now I have 5 times more storage. Drive was like $109 I think. it was the IOmega DVR Expander drive.

As others have stated, the cons are minimal DVR storage space (didn't know of an upgrade), DVR will heat up in an enclosed cabinet, I don't like their new menu format (too busy with colors and hard to focus on highlighted fields), and by far the most frustrating thing is the S L O W remote response. Gawt damned I want to stomp that thing into the floor!
And one other issue is the fact that they changed our package mid-stream and dropped some premium channels, like MGM movies (and a few others), then increased our bill.

Pros are fantastic service. Never have any outage issues, and we were one of the first to get it (Keller). Internet speeds are unbeatable. Phone is crystal clear but also kind of expensive, for a simple land line service. TV channel list` are so many that you just can't find the time to watch everything you would like. HDnet movies is an excellent free movie channel with some decent titles, and updated often.
