My court date for ticket was rescheduled. Gotta question

Long story short I was scheduled for court for a ticket on 11/18/11 but I got a letter that its been rescheduled for 11/30/11.

I have plans to be out of town that week. Can I just pay the ticket and avoid going to court? It gives me the option on the dallas city hall website to pay it, but I dont want to pay it if I still have to go to court. First ticket ever so Im a noob at this...

lf you posted this at 11:46AM this morning...why not just call the phone number for the court that is surely on the letter you got and ask the person on the other end of the phone that answers?

tell your attorney they can get it rescheduled for you. dont pay the ticket unless they offer up deferred or something to keep it off your record. oh and quit breaking the law asshole

Hell, I WAS arrested for a paid Dallas ticket that was mis-filed, almost a year later. Spent 2 days (technically) in 2 jails before bonding out again and then going to court to get my money back.....no extra $$$ for their mistake either, judge was a bitch and said "don't press your luck" when I asked for compensation equal to sitting in jail to pay a ticket with time served. Assholes.

Doubt she ever got hers. I actually ended up friends with the arresting Addison officer, Bobby. He told me Dallas always fucks up and post warrants on paid tickets.

call them to rescheduled, and tell them you have plans. They will set another date. If the cop isn't showing up, it should be dismissed. Why pay anything?
