  • Video Games and Adults

I am 29 years old, and haven't seriously played a video game since PS2. I see people on the the board, and see all of my friends playing this stuff still. I feel like I am the only one in my age range that doesn't play anymore. Am I really the only male between the age of 18-35 that doesn't play video games anymore? I think the last game I played was Madden 2007. LOL

I don't see how people have the time or energy to play video games with kids, a full time job, and all the things that go along with being a responsible adult.

How the hell do you guys do it?

I don't play very often either.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

With 15,000+ posts here in two years, I can't imagine you have time for video games.

It's been at least 5 years. Star Craft, GTA: Vice City, and Madden '03. Oh, and Postal 2 was great for a while.

That hour or so every night after working 12+ hours a day of killing some mother fuckers helps relieve the stress I get at work.

Don't have kids, so I'm sure that will change.

Chalk 95% of that up to time at work.

I don't post much after work unless it is sports related.

I personally have played like an accumulative of 2-3 hours in the last couple years. I buy all sorts of games with the intent of playing them; but never have the time. My son plays most of the games, and we keep an xbox live membership to stream netflix lol

I don't get it either. I haven't played video games on a regular basis since my NES and all I played on it was Mario and Tetris. We've had a Wii for three years and used it for Guitar Hero for the first month. It's sat untouched since then. No time, no real interest.

I have never gotten into video games, even as a kid. I was too busy with outside shit, wish my kids would do the same....

Kids does not mean responsible adult...it can actuallly mean the opposite.

My brother is so into them that 'real life' is an interruption to playing games. Every dollar earned is another dollar he can spend on getting a game or upgrading his console or some shit. He's always digging around online to get new cheat codes. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

I don't get it at all. For me, even the most fun video game is a complete bore after about an hour.

I got into video games when I was in the military. Wasn't much else to do. Now I use them more so as a stress reliever. Don't have kids, and don't plan on having them either (we know how that goes though) So therefore I am able to stay a big kid! I don't play too much, maybe an hour a day, if that.

I'm not married and I don't have kids, so free time isn't that big of a problem. It's not the only thing I do but it's one of my hobbies. I don't buy every new game that comes out so it's a rather inexpensive hobby, especially when I have games I've played for over a year. It's one of several forms of stress relief for me.
