Take it as a sign and your gut feeling. I just got rid of my Denali the end of August and I'm still not over our "break up." I've never missed a car or been that upset over one until then.

You can't worry about value when you buy something like a ZR1. It is going to go down. The thing is, the CTS-V is probably going to go down faster then either car you have mentioned. If you really want a CTS-V then wait another year or so and you'll be able to dump the Denali and buy a low mileage 2009 sedan for under $40K. With the caddy the mileage doesn't matter as much as the year model does.

After thinking over the weekend, I'm still planning on holding onto both. I have almost 57k on the Yukon and it's probably the best overall vehicle I've owned. It's also the vehicle I've put the most miles on that I've owned. It's just comfy to drive and it's very reliable with decent power for an SUV. It still looks new too which is surprising being over 3 years old outside most of the time.

I drove the Vette all weekend with the awesome weather we've had and I just can't get rid of it. It's the only stock car I've ever driven that has made me laugh out loud when I've nailed it to redline through a couple of the lower gears. 3rd gear is the money gear to 125mph, pull a redline shift at top of 3rd, and it only drops 1,000rpm to 5,500 rpm and pulls redline again a few seconds later. It's too much fun to sell, certainly at $80k.

Nobody buys GMC's for the resale value. Nobody. Just enjoy what you've got and drive 'em until the wheels fall off.

Have you considered listing the ZR1 and GMC on Ebay,cars.com and Autotrader? Trading at dealership always equals butt rape.

I'd consider the GMC, but the Vette will not be sold privately unless it's a non-ad sale. Could you imagine the tire kickers/burners? Not to mention, I'd like to retain the sales tax benefit of trade-in as the 6% credit is quite a bit.

Planning on keeping both, though a guy on another car board may want to unload his V and pick up my Yukon. So, we're going to meet up next week and check out each other's vehicles and see if we could get something to work if we're both interested.
