Motors were seriously underrated. 385 to the wheels stock. Mild cams with stock headers will put you over 440 rwhp.
I would love to build one with one of the aluminum GT blocks that are now out with the GT heads and an Aussie intake. I just don't have the coin and or room under the hood for it. I'd have to raise my seat 3" to see over it! LOL!
These motors were built in a couple of one off's for Ford Daytona Prototypes and the S197 FIA FR500... it reportedly made 750hp N/A with ease at around 8000 rpm. Scott Cushman, built my race motor, has a destroked 5.4 with GT heads and a carb making 750'ish....but has HUGE money in it.
I would love to have one of these cars for a daily.....and a second that would get my brand of weight savings and get it down to about 2750lbs empty. Then it would be fun!
