Those people are fools. I'm sure it is amusing to the powers that be. Distract people into worrying about non-issues while ignoring what is going on in that dark room. Those 99% assholes should be shot on the charge of contemptible human idiocy and blindness.

I wrote it in about 5 minutes.

The line about god is a rough quote from The Rum Diary though.

LOL, I have been feeling the same way lately. Life is a game, your sucess depends on how well you play within the rules while finding out which ones are able to be bent.

Eric, I was a very similar inner monologue going last night while I was taking nips from my flask, working on my motorcycle.

Awesome write up. I expect a copy of your first book.

I do need to finish the latest novel I've been writing for the better part of 4 years off and on. The last year has certainly given me enough material to work with.

While I do agree, laws aren't inacted for those of us with a good sense of morality and and what is right and just, they are enacted to protect us from those that possess neither trait.

That is a complete over-simplification of course, but the reality is that laws are necessary. I wouldn't want to live in a society with no laws or the enforcement thereof.

Everything would eventually achieve balance. You want to make an omelet, you've got to break a few eggs.

I don't think that it ever would, just the opposite actually. Miscreants would continue to breed, pass along their genes and immoral natures, and take out the good people that don't wish harm upon others. Even moral people would have to adjust to protect themselves and their family, and eventually become only a step above the said miscreants.

What good is absolute freedom if you can't enjoy it for fear of harm?

Fear is the lowest human emotion, and catering to it through legislation does nothing to further us as a species. Look at the idiocracy of the TSA.

                              This^

While I am a Libertarian, I am not an Anarchist Libertarian. Laws exist so that freedom can be maintained. I am in favor of laws that protect my rights to do whatever, while protecting my rights from being violated by others. Laws that violate rights are what I have a problem with; this is the problem we need to solve and it starts by getting people to read and understand the 9th Amendment.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

                                +1

These are the arguments I have with the other voices in my head. We have turned into a nation of children with the government being mommy and daddy. Deciding for us whats best, what to eat, what to drive, what to drink and when bed time is. It makes me sick and sad at the same time. Thinking of the freedom I had just 30 years ago as compared to what is now "allowed".

The big ones that always piss me off are my damn property taxes. WTF? Send me a bill every year for $2300 and then decide if its not paid by a certain date its almost double. And if that date is ignored I am no longer allowed to have said home. Its my fuggin home, was paid for in cash. Why do I have to chip in $1300 a year for school? I have no children and the ones I see clearly are not being educated. Why do I have to pay another $600 a year for roads when the road I live on is gravel? Truly pisses me off.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
