At home I use a loofah, for several reasons. I have naturally dry skin, so the scrub helps. Because of my dry skin, I use a liquid soap (also cuts down on soap scum big time).

On the road, I use a rag and bar of whatever is at the hotel.

You don't need to be covered in filth to need a good scrubbing. You shed dead skin all the time. A scrub is beneficial.
