I've already donated a kidney to my sister, which has allowed her to live a more full life(and maybe just live, period, as she was headed seriously downhill)for the last 7 years. Not only was it life changing for her, but it changed my perspective on quite a few things. There are always bad apples out there. I look at it as how we make laws that cater to lowest common denominator. Just do what you can to do the right things, and let let nature take care of everything else. I'd be more worried about someone who w=did need it and would appreciate it with a family not getting it, then some asshole not being able to waste it away.

Yes. When I'm gone If I my parts can help someone else prolong their life so be it. The good Karma can never hurt!It happens to be a well thought out and reasoned dissertation on drug use and a lyrical cost/benefit analysis of various kinds of drugs, drawing the conclusion that beer is the best of them all.

Yes. My dad was a heart recipient, although he died 3 yrs later the donor gave us 3 yrs we didn't have. and he took care of himself and his new heart. Don't think the way you do......just giving the opportunity for someone to live longer justifies being a donor. THanks for being a donor.

I became a registered donor when I realized that I have (extended) family members desperately waiting on transplants. The lists are long and there really are not enough organs to go around.
At the end of the day you cannot worry about other people not doing the right thing, eg. abusing their new organs. Just concern yourself with your end of the bargain. This holds true for all things in life.

A friend of mine died from liver failure. He suffered in the hospital for weeks before he finally let go of life.
