    I was only referring to the uninsured part of it. But on your statement: It really depends on what ins co your dealing with. I have had ACV paid + some for recent repair or improvements to the vehicle (as long as you have receipts). Most ins co's will pay up to $2k for wheels, stereo, etc w/out receipts. GEICO has always paid me well whether it was my claim or another GEICO cust that hit me. I have heard horror stories about being left in the neg on a claim though. Luckily I have not been one of those that had to deal with it. 1.5 yrs is a long time to hold out.

                put him on his own policy, it costs more but gives them a head start on building credit. My parents had me on my own in the very possible case i stuffed some shit into somebody, they didn't want to get cancelled or their rates jacked.

                  Insurance companies do not report to credit bureaus. They will however check your credit in order to give you a policy, or set your rates. There's a good chance he couldn't qualify on his own.
