Xbox Live issue...

Noticed some charges from my xbox live account on my card statement that I did not charge. I called them and they did an investigation and they say that since my gamer tag has a variation of my name in it, they are not responsible. wtf? So I am out over $400.
They know what console that the charges came from and it wasnt mine and they have money from my account, yet they refuse to give it back. Jack-booted thugs...

Call your Credit card company and file a fraud charge. Thats bullshit. More than likely they will credit you the charge and go after them.

I had fraudulent charges from xBox last month. 3 charges for Microsoft Zune points totaling around $100.

I filed with my CC company and I was mailed back screenshots showing my annual renewal fee, which was like 4 months ago AND totally different. Ended up calling back and explaining that what they showed was not what the charges were for and Chase acknowledged there have been multiple fraud charges recently. Microsoft definitely tries to shift blame. I figured they'd have better security.

In the future, buy the prepaid subscription and points cards, so you don't have a CC on file.

I had a similar problem. Ended up talking to the bank first, and got my money back without any problems.
