  • Anyone use an electronic cigarette (ecigarette)?

I'm really interested in trying one out, and before I drop the coin on one of the "good" ones I wanted some input from someone who may have tries a couple different ones. So far it looks like the SafeCig has the highest reviews on multiple websites, and they are actually pretty affordable to start with. The other one I see really good reviews on is the GreenSmoke brand. Any input would be appreciated.

I bught the greensmoke, it was ok. I can't actually complain about the product at all, just didn't do what I would have liked and actually replaced the real thing.

I use the ego-t. Bought the upgraded batteries in addition to the starter kit.

Here's the thing about e-cigs. There are two types (that I know of). The cartridge style (cartridges are damn near as expensive as cigarettes), and the liquids (refillable cartridges). Vaporescense uses vegetable glycerine, which can clog over time. I haven't experienced this yet, but I also keep it clean. If it clogs, no big deal, you can get a new atomizer, and they aren't very expensive.

Vaporescense also has a store in Denton, and one in Richardson. So if you run low, and forget to order, you can pick liquid up locally. The liquid styles are MUCH cheaper ($17/bottle or so). I'd recommend peppermint, or possibly cinammon (if they have it, I haven't checked). The tobacco flavored stuff tastes nothing like tobacco. Even the peppermint liquid tastes like peppermint flavored meth. Don't ask...

Good info, thanks. Apparently the cartridges are kinda obsolete. Most of the units are now a two piece, where the battery and circuitry are in the longer white part of the cigarette where the tobacco would be, and the liquid portion and atomizer are screw-on replaceable "cartromizers" that go where the cig butt would normally be. The atomizer technology has been refined and is cheaper so it's basically just a throwaway part.

It's about 12 dollars from safecig for 5 refill cartridges, which they said last about as long as a pack of cigarettes each, so relatively pretty cheap still. I ordered a safecig one just now, and it comes with five cartridges. If I don't like it I will try and sell it or something, but I'm going to check out two or three different ones. Will probably check out that store in Denton. The safecig should be here next week, and if anyone cares I'll post up about it.

For the record, the vaporescence one has no smell at all. I also forgot to mention, filling the tips with the liquid can be a pain in the ass. I just haven't looked to see if there is a better way to do it than what I currently do. I need to run by the store to talk to someone.

Also, the ego-T is much larger than a normal cigarette. More like a thin highlighter. The batteries seem to last around 24 hours or so, depending on how much you use them.

It will satisfy a nicotine craving, but as with every time be tried to quit, it's no substitute when you drink. I want real smokes when I drink.

You still have to be disciplined too. "I will NOT buy a pack of cigarettes", repeat. Because you will still be tempted. You are basically swapping one addicition for another, and you'll have to step down in the nicotine ratings to quit fully. The e-cigs HAVE to be more healthy than actually smoking. The liquid I use is nothing but nicotine, and vegetable glycerin (VG is what gives you the filling lungs effect). Where as cigarettes have all the tar, and carcinogens.

No, but I use mine in my office, my customer's offices, non smoking restaurants, etc.
