GTI as a daily?

I almost bought a '12 GTI but not sure I could live with the ride they have.

Other then that it was nice.

But yeah I wouldn't buy a high mileage one, that's for sure.

Well when I had the notch as a weekend racer, I drove that as a daily until some dumbass hit me and put me into the wall on the highway.

Had an 07 new gti and a 07 used gli a few years later. Fun cars with good gas. Ride was just fine for me and plenty of power. Used and abused gti is a no no. Especially autos. Stay away from auto. In the mk5's, the dsg auto was expensive and prone to go out after warranty. Other then that, I would buy another gti in a heartbeat.
Edit: the tdi will not be as sporty and fun as a gti, but they are excellent on mpg and uber reliable. I worked at vw many moons before I became LEO and it was common to have 300k golf, jetta, and beetles come in for routine maintenance. The interior was the worst part of those cars but they still drove great.
