  • Anyone ever been to the Movie Tavern?

Taking the wife out to dinner tonight and we want to see a movie afterwards and this is the only place we can find in our area that shows this movie we want to see within the time frame we want. (due to babysitter needs)

Is this a decent place to catch a movie?

I hate crowds and hate movies for that reason, but they are spread out enough that it is not too bad.

I would say that half of the food is oversalted to make up for being frozen or whatever, but hangs well if judged against fast food burgers and chicken.

If you guys like movies, and it makes a good date night, then i would say try it, you won't be overly disappointed at worst, and may enjoy it.

Not sure which one you are going to but either way I would definitely do dinner elsewhere. As far as theaters go they are not the greatest but it's not as bad as the dollar theaters.

It's rare that we get to go out for a movie, but when we do, if Movie Tavern isn't playing it, I won't go. I've only been to the South Arlington location, though. I'll take it any day over that bullshit at the Katrina, err Parks Mall.

The only sucky part I think is the chairs. They are office type chair with wheels.

I know it's implied with the user name, but don't listen to this blatant nonsense.

Those seats are a hell of a lot better than typical movie theater seats.

I like Studio Movie Grill - go to Facebook, where they have free movie passes. I setup like 6 email addresses to get more passes. In the last 2 years I've seen 40-50 movies & only paid for 3 or 4 of them. All the rest on FB free passes. The food is actually pretty decent, but a bit pricey. So I rarely eat a meal there. But soft drinks & popcorn there are cheaper than typical movie theaters. And the soft drinks have free refills.

I'll never go to a "regular" movie theater again...........

The one off of 7th in Fort Worth is really nice, and they don't use office style chairs. The one in Bedford does though. It's kinda nice though because the office chairs are freaking huge.

Gotcha, just figured it out. The one in Arlington has the regular style.

I don't remember any wheeled chairs there.

That's the only one I've been to. Regardless. If you never been you can only try it and not worry what others say. Feel the experience and judge for yourself. But I've always wondered do any of the movie theaters ever spot clean their seats. There must been all kinds of stains.

Chairs with wheels big dummy. Even the if you just go watch the movie and not eat at the one in bedford you can always go next door to chillies, boomerjack, or dukes to eat and walk to the movie tavern.
