5.4. I have heard the 4.6 in the trucks get worse gas mileage.

      Who is this?

My '06 Ram quad cab 4.7/auto gets 16-18 depending on how much highway driving I do. My work route is 183, so it's a lot closer to city traffic than hwy, so I usually average closer to 16.
Trucks normally get worse mileage with the smaller engines due to being inneficient and under powered for the heavy weight. The MPG i quoted was with a 5.4l.

How are you guys in 08+ Chevy/GMC 1500's getting20+ mpg highway?

I got an 08 GMC Sierra CC 2WD on Thursday, fresh oil change, k&N filter and tires properly inflated and I got 18 MPG at 70, and 16.9 mpg at 75. Had cruise control on 70 from San Antonio to Georgetown, then kicked it up from there to Bedford going 75. What am I doing wrong? Or are you guys full of chit?

Yeah something there doesn't seem right. What motor is in your truck? My dads 06 GMC CC with the 5.3v8 gets around 20-21 with his heavy ass foot.

I'm sure if i went 60-65 I could get it up in the 20's but that will never happen.

07 cc silverado 5.3 and I'm lucky if I can get 14 in the city.
My 01 ranger with a tiny 4 cylinder gets about 26 mixed.
