In the OP, those are made in Korea. Most of the others are Chinese or Japanese and are just re-branded, more cheaply made versions of the major brands. Even the ones Sony sends out in their junk are re-branded Duracells.

Pisses me off, because I had to call Sony to replace one of my remotes due to their shitty batteries leaking and corroding the insides of my remote.

the GE universal remote we had in the bedroom ended up going into the washing machine with the comforter...

when the drier started banging and making noise, I (as a man) ignored it obviously. My wife kept telling me to go check on it, but I was like "meh, heavy comforter = angry drier"

at the end of the cycle I found our universal remote in the drier... I fished the batteries and battery cover out of the drier and put the batteries back in the remote. It still worked!
