Been gone for a couple of days, a couple of buddies and I went down on an impromptu fishing trip to get away....


The weather was great, but when we got there, we were greeted with hundreds of dead fish lining the beach. There were mullet, perch, hardheads, red snapper, tarpon, and other various fish. It seems that the red tide is going strong and depriving O2 from the fish.

We fished for about 36 hours before giving up and coming back home. We would catch baitfish and then use a kayak to run out large lines to about 300-400 yards out.

At least we had a great trip and got to get away for a while..

That sucks big time. You can get all of the dead fish that you want on local lakes without having to make the long drive.

No, I used fake bloodworm and caught hand sized mullet and some other fish we weren't quite sure what it was. It looked like a fish with tiger stripings.

I was called the fish sniper. One cast, one kill. That fake bloodworms "Fish Bites" works like magic.

We went out Hwy 358 out of Corpus onto PINS (HWY 22). We were at about Mile 16.

I've just been wanting to catch a shark and I've not done it yet.

I caught about a 4 foot shark off the coast of WA. By far the most fun I've had. We were fishing deep and he fought like hell. I was exhausted afterwards but still caught the largest Lingcod of the day.
