I am currently in Jamaica Beach, near Galveston, and haven't had very good luck. Caught some whiting, sailtop, hardhead, small black drum, and a 22" redfish. Pretty sure I had a shark cut my line too. I did not have a steel leader on, something nailed my line and cut it. Fished yesterday afternoon, all day today, and still have all day friday and saturday. Hopefully we will catch some bull reds.

Yup, was supposed to do a Corpus Kayak trip weekend after this one, looks like I may have to put that on hold now. Got a buddy down there who was supposed to do some fishing and get back to me today and let me know how it goes. Will post more when I find out

I was down there last weekend and did very well, even fishing in the red tide. I caught 2 sharks and a bull red over 40 inches long. I'll upload a pic later. The red was caught in the red tide as we were coughing the whole time we were catching them...

I might be down there 11/11 for a few days. Buddy told me last night that an old guide down there said the best fishing is end of Oct through mid Nov for reds and trout. Hope he's right. I've had good luck there in Sept, but have never fished Oct/Nov. Matt, check your PM's bro!
