  • Anyone snowboard here

    Anyone on the forum snowboard?

I'm looking to go to snowmass and get on the snowpipe this winter.

I spent 3 days snowboarding last winter. My old skateboarding skills translated
and I was able to have a really great time at AngelFire NM.

This year I'm looking to try out the snowpipe at Snowmass Colorado.

I skated for years and other than balance, they served me no purpose snowboarding. I went to snowmass in January of 2010 and got owned by not being able to control the board. Made my way onto a black slope by accident and I'm just glad that I didn't break anything. BTW, your post doesn't have any questions so I'm not sure what you're looking for. Maybe you're a natural, but with me, snowboarding is nothing like skateboarding. Snowmass is fucking awesome by the way. Gorgeous.

I consider myself pretty athletic and have naturally been prett good or at least better than most at every sport I have ever tried. With that being said, I absolutely suck at snowboarding and wakeboarding. A 5 year old girl is better than me

My stepson snowboards. Kid has never been on snow ever in his life & took to it like a fish to water! Me myself like warm weather! To hell with the snow. Hence why I left Chicago & live in Texas now!

I have snowboarded since '88 and I have stayed out of the big bowls and pipes since I blew out a knee in '91. I stick to the basic alpine riding with an occassional trip into the snowboard park.

I ride an old 165mm Burton A deck that is fairly stiff so it's stable at speed but still has enough shape to let me turn quick and do spins.

If you are going to spend a lot of time in the parks and pipes, get a short, light, flexible board. Set your bindings so that your toes point to either end with enough spacing to keep your balance.

I'm a jibber, so the park is were I'd be at. Although I haven't gone in 4 years. I ride a Libtech Jamie Lynn pro model triple x wide in 151.

I've had a Ride and Libtech 158 / 160. Stopped going once the fun of getting the crap beat out of me wore off.
