  • Don't deal with "thedriver33" from other board.... Maybe we need to look for Chuck...

I bought a TV that this piece of shit had advertised on the other board. I talked to him on the phone about the TV and he said it was a good TV with no issues. I met up with him to buy the TV and asked him again if there were any issues with the TV and he said, "it takes about 15 seconds for a picture to come on but it works fine and the picture is perfect". I didn't think too much of it because I have a LG LCD tv that is about 4 years old and it takes about 15 seconds for a picture to come on. He also told me to call him if I had any problems and that he was looking for the manual still and would call me when he found it.

Got the TV home and plugged it in... went to turn it on and nothing happened. Looked around online and found some info on resetting it and got it to turn on but only after it would power cycle several times and it takes more like 10 minutes to turn on. Found out the power supply board is on its way out. I tried calling him right away and also texted him. He texted me back and long story short the piece of shit said no refunds I am shit out of luck and he needed the money, "for his kids for christmas". Shady lowlife piece of shit... BUYER BEWARE

    other board screen name: thedriver33

    Real name: Ryan Asshat

    Mobile Number: 469-826-3233

The piece of crap even said that he needed to "give his phone back to his friend" lol... I think his friends name is CHUCK

I know I know... I had posted a camera on there a few weeks ago and was checking the response to that thread when I saw the post for the TV. It happened to be exactly what I was looking for and it seemed like a good deal..

If it seems to good to be true....

That sucks man, and just think ... it's only getting worse from here on out. Economy, desperation, previous pieces of shit turn into bigger ones and previous non-pieces of shit turn into one.

sucks to hear, i hate scammers.

What I do though when buying used electronics is go verify it is working first, then deal with the payment part.

What kind of TV is it? My Samsung LCD just started doing the same thing and after some research I found out there is a recall for bad capacitors on the power supply board. I called Samsung and they are sending somebody out to replace the board. Pretty sweet considering it's out of warranty.

                        Might be worth checking into.

You bought a used TV without plugging it in to see if it worked? Seriously?

I agree the dude 'did you wrong' by not refunding your money, but come on...

honestly man you bought used electronics and never plugged it in before you paid for it. chalk it up as lesson learned. I tried to buy some used heads off ebay about a month ago. guy says they are good to go ready to run lmao. they arrive at the door the combustion chambers had chunks of aluminum missing and the exhaust valves were peppered to shit. guy had sprayed the shit out of the heads and then sold em to me. oh well
