  • replacing a gas fireplace?

    anyone done this? mine appears to be a self contained kinda job. the glass broke, and the wife wants a different one. where can i find these?

    The glass is usually just the screen, the gas is just basically a long tube with holes that ignite.

      You can find some at Lowes/Home Depot. Changing them out usually requires plumbing, carpentry and masonry work in some cases.

                          i need the entire "insert" for lack of knowledge on what the correct term is. not just the door or the glass, but my fireplace is actually steel, not ceramic. it technically is not built into the house, but is a one piece deal that slides into a hole. i do not have a chimney, rather a vert onto my patio. i start my fireplace by flipping a regular wall switch.
