Police say she stabbed him with a knife after an argument over the change.
It turns out Brandi Frerichs was on work release from prison.
She was wearing an ankle monitor.
Police worked with the Department of Corrections and were able to track her down at a nearby apartment complex.
Investigators say she eventually surrendered to police.
She was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
Frerichs was also busted on a warrant of manufacturing meth.
According to an arrest report, the victim claimed that he had a dispute over $20 with his server at the Sonic drive-in in the 3800 block of Harvard Avenue. He told police that the server,
identified as Frerichs, followed him to the 3300 block of 38th Street, attacked him and stabbed him in the neck.
Sonic employees told officers that they saw the man and Frerichs leave about the same time before the customer returned and said he had been stabbed by the server
