I've had several form factor HDTVs. If I had to pick a favorite for overall quality and features it would be my Panasonic VIERA TC class 50" plasma.

I have a 55" Samsung that took a dump on me @13 months. Called Samsung they extended my factory warranty and came to the house and fixed it no charge. My next tv will be Samsung because of their cs.

I just picked up that 60" sharp tv that jluv mentioned at sams for about $1299. Nice sharp picture. It replaced a 57" Mitsubishi dlp that started having issues with the circuitry that drives the bulb. The sharp appears to be on close out - they had an instant $300 rebate on
It so it might be hard to find.

Fuck Samsung they fucked 1000's of people with under rated shitty leaking capacitors on their LCD TV's. Did I learn my lesson, nope now 16 month old 1,000 dollar washing machine takes a dump. They screwed me on the Tv but got partial value on the washer. Lots of bad reviews about screen coating peeling off on some of their newer TV's

My 55" Toshiba is a great TV and has worked well for the past 8 months or so...

I wouldn't pay that much. Not long ago someone had a sale, and the 82" version was around that price. Buy a previous year's closeout, and it will knock a few hundred off.

Bought a 60" Plasma Panasonic for around around 1400. Once my irritation level drops, I'll start dealing with Sony about this boat anchor in my living room.
