I bought the Sony from Costco.

If you bought the Sony from Costco, you should be able to get it fixed or replaced. Sony gives a 1 year manufacturers warranty, and Costco adds another year of warranty. If the TV is less than 2 years old, you should be good.

Costco carries the 60" Sharp that jluv mentioned. I put one in at my parents has a few months ago, it is an awesome set.

What brand would you go with and why? LED, 55"+. My 6 month old Sony took a shit, and those cocksuckers can roast in hell after the "customer service" I've received. Sorry about the wrong forum, but I need answers now, and this is where the traffic is. Thanks gents.

I have a 42" Samsung that is broken, so they are not getting my vote. It's about 1.5 years old and just out of warranty. The reviews I see online seems to shows their customer service sux, and so do their boards, capacitors, and power supplies.

Never had and issue with either Mitsubishi, and my other Samsung is fine. Still 50% failure rate in a small sample will keep me from buying another. I haven't taken the time to diagnose the real issue yet, as I had an old tv that was not being used.

My 2 cents.

Panasonic Plasma, you will not regret it. I have a 58 inch and the picture quality is the best. I can't stand the LCD/LED's blurring effect. If you watch alot of sports and action movies, Plasm is the way to go. Their customer service is top notch too, for the first year they come to your house, no questions asked. I called them becaue I thought I had something wrong turns out it was the channel not the TV, they upgraded my motherboard since they were out and it was available.

I bought a 55" Samsung LED alomst a year ago...love it! No Complaints what-so-ever....Samsung makes really nice LED panels. When I was researching mine around the time I bought it I found out that Best Buy has more Sonys returned than any other make TV.

BTW - I don't recommend buying from Best Buy....they can suck a dick!

Costco hasn't done anything for me, except redirect me to Sony, who doesn't have the replacement part to fix my TV, and expects me to go for a month without a functional TV before they can have a new one to me.

I just went and read their return policy regarding electronics, which is 90 days unless you purchase some sort of extended hassle free warranty from them. I would still purchase a tv from them and stay away from Sony. Three weeks ago they let me return the king mattress set I bought from them back in March, no questions asked.
Why not borrow a tv for a month or so while Sony honors their factory warranty? I've got that small 20 or so " lcd that used to be in the exercise room that you can borrow. It's small, but better than shelling out $1200-$1500 when the Sony isn't that old.
