Quality products, bought the 42 at walmart for a little over $600 and the LED at frys for $1499 on sale a few months ago.

I also have had a 26inch Polaroid 720P for the kitchen that is almost 7 years old with no problems. It has survived a robbery in my last living situation that was slammed up against the wall on its way out the door to homie's volvo.
hmm, I got the same 42" LG for $378.

The 90 day figure is for the return policy. Under warranty, they will repair the tv, but you can't just return it no questions asked, as you can within 90 days.

The manufacturer's warranty is one year, and Costco extends it for one more year, regardless of payment method. Amex does basically the same thing, but there are conflicting opinions about whether the Amex extension runs concurrently with the Costco or consecutively. Hell, even if he had bought it somewhere else without the extra warranty, it would still be under the factory warranty.

If you want to use a credit card, Amex is the only one they take. Otherwise cash, Check, or Debit.

From what talisman said, the TV is still under manufacturer's warranty. Sony is having problems either getting the correct parts to fix it or they are having delays in shipping the replacement TV(I'd say new TV, but it'll be a refurb).

A week before mine went out of warranty (2 year mark) same model you have, two panels died. Luckily I was able to get it repaired by LG... sucker heats the room.
