Perspective, this gives it. I haaaaate hearing people crying about how "bad" we have it here. I could name 100+ countries that have it so much worse than us. $3/gal gas seem high? See how much $3 will get you in any other developed (and non-opec) country. Petrol in the U.K. is currently going for the equivalent of $8.12/gal. How about the cost of beef in pretty much every country that isn't America? Unemployment? Roughly half of the nations on Earth have a higher unemployment rate than us. Now, this doesn't necessarily meet our standard of living, but just think how much worse it could be if you lived elsewhere.

Yeah, even our homeless have it better than folks from true poverty. Hell, at worst get put up in prison or something. Still, I'd imagine it is pretty straight forward to just survive as a solo homeless person.

Not that I want to try it or anything. Still, most Americans have a looooong way to go before we're at rock bottom. However, no one wants to see a good, hard working person lose everything due to politics and crap.

There is more troof to that statement then you could know. I work with Ugondan's(SP?), Kenyans and a few others. They all say the same thing. I have a black co worker who worked in Africa as a (civilian) military trainer. Even he says that the true African blacks hate American blacks. I have had a lot of very long conversations with him about it and he admits the Africans think the American blacks act like "animals, apes, clowns".

I guarantee you that mommy and daddy think most of them are in school, and would shit their pants if they knew their kids were out there on their dime. They didn't get those IPads and IPhones by being unemployed students.

I have been looking into buying apartments here in CS and the typical 300-400/mo apartment is struggling because students are getting up to $25,000/yr in loans to pay for school and housing. A&M tuition isn't anywhere near that much and they are buying laptops, big screens and cars with that money while living in apartments that would rival the nicest in Dallas.
