            It was probably just a large water bug. They are commonly mistaken for cockroaches:

            When I was stationed in Gitmo, we had the huge 2" plus variety. I was taking some laundry down to the laundry room and a big one was at the door. I stepped on it, and when I removed my foot, it looked up at me, flipped me off, and ran away...

                      I kept waking up one night becasue my face was itching. I thought my wife was messin with me until I slap my own face and crushed a roach. It was awful. I had to get up and go take a shower at 3-4am.

                        I used the remote to turn on the ceiling fan at the lease one night and it rained down spiders on the bed ! I almost burnt the fuckin place to the ground ! I can totally relate to CJ almost beating himself to death tryin to kill it !
