I use a v1. I only ever use it if I know I am driving more then 20min, or if i am going anywhere near Plano. I buzz around Dallas without issues. I think most Dallas cops have bigger issues then a little speeding. Granted, if you see one with red shoulder bars on his shirt, your screwed.

I have access to LIDAR, but I use this:

instant-on can be detected from MILES away!!!

if you're only hitting people doing 20+ over, you'll catch me one of these days, but most officers "instant on" EVERYBODY! LOL

My experience with detectors is they tell you when you are supposed to pull over.

Besides - you wouldn't be speeding in that new roush anyway...

Dash units do not have the capability to jam LIDAR. You would have to add a ZR4 or other LIDAR jammer to jam.

Yeah thats all the traffic unit does, the sheriffs on the other hand are the ones to be looking for, those fuckers are everywhere

9500iX here, I love it. It was the same price as the V1, but honestly I dont care where the cop is, as long as I know he is somewhere near by. The Escort has a much better display, along with memory settings to automatically store and block out false signals (ie walgreens automatic doors) and I have mine set to display my current speed, but there are many other settings along with turning off/on certian features like X band, SWS, Traffic, etc...

It even has redlight camera detection which is actually really nice to have!

                    Just my .02 cents!

I used to buy the latest and greatest radar detectors...escort, passport, maxon, etc. I've discovered its cheaper and easier to just slow down...saves gas too.
