The policy specifically says "steel toe", but I found a loop hole. They make kevlar toe boots too!

Most of me hopes you're serious.

A decently small part says you might be joking.

I'm serious. There are several officers that have gotten their feet run over directing traffic, working accidents, etc....

There are several manufacturers that use kevlar or composite materials for toe protection.

I think it is rediculous that I cannot wear protection for my feet in the small chance I might kick someone....

I've been here 20 years and I've never kicked anyone yet...

My DM's aren't steel toe, but have been damn comfortable(Pull-ons, not jack boots) and really good work boots.

If I need a safety toe... I'll get these

I thought you did most of your work on your knees.

See my post above, Matt. The Converse composite toed shoes I have are great. The website I referenced has a lot of composite toed shoes.

I've never lost a pair of boots lol

I'll add to my red wings post, I wear steel toes usually 4 days a week. It's just easier for me, on and off Honduras all day, and most require them. I don't put in near the hard work as most of you do. Hours, yes. Abuse, no.

Of course, my attire is consistent with my meetings and schedule

Like I said, mine aren't laceups, but my Red Wings are comfortable as hell, and I can't see the laceups losing any comfort. I'm about to buy two more pairs, actually.

I found a set at Academy made by Brazos (plain black service boots) that are..get ready....$29.99..and they last MUCH longer than the previous ones I've worn, are comfortable as hell...and I'm on my 3rd pair in about 6 years now (railroad use is VERY hard on boots)

Damn...I'll have to look into those. My company gives us a $75 allowance per year for new steel toes. I've been getting 2 pair of those $19.99 slip-ons,

But I may have to get my slip-on and that boot.
