I have noticed that some people can get addicted to things whether they are good or bad. They just have addictedpersonalities. If you have friends that are addicted to smoking, drugs, alcohol etc, look to other things in their life that most would not label as an addiction and see if they seemed obsessed with those things.

I know someone that gets addicted to the point of obsession with hobbies. Racing his street car and going camping are two things they never did unti a few years ago. Then once he started it has gotten to where it takes over his life. He used to smoke.

Good luck with this addiction. I've been told that quitting cigarettes is harder than quitting crack or heroin.

me too. i quit 2 years. then i moved back to texas and all my friends smoke so i started again. i only smoke 3-4 a day now vs a pack, so IMO it's not that bad, or as bad as it could be.

I have always been curious about it. Perhaps it is a combination of those things. Everyone has a different tolerance, even when I smoked heavily (two to three packs a week, mostly on weekend binges), I would sometimes skip a week or so without noticing.

Congrats dude. As a non-smoker I understand the desire to not smoke. Vent to me via PMs if you like, I'm used to being bitched at...

She said it gave her crazy sex dreams that she hadn't had in 30 years. I didn't know whether to be turned on or disturbed.
Shit, I may have to try that stuff. I don't smoke, but I would love some crazy sex dreams.:wink1:

Get you a bag of sunflower seeds. They keep you busy and it is a good little snack.

Way to go Allan! I used chantix myself, quit for almost 2 years and am tempted to do it again. It definitely works, and you will love the savings!

I dipped for maybe two years in college...then when I graduated I just decided it was stupid, and unhealthy. So I quit cold turkey. It didn't seem hard because it was so practical to quit.

I also have another friend that has tested addicitions in many ways. It was a weird fascination he had in college and he tried many things for months on end just to see how hard it was to quit.

But I also have broke friends that cannot quit regardless of the financial impact.
