  • Anyone here own a red '09 GT500 that got smashed in the right side ?

We have a red with white striped Shelby GT500 that came in to work that got hit in the passenger's side pretty hard. Apparently someone ran a red light and smashed the Shelby.

Let me know if it belongs to anyone here and I'll try to make sure it gets extra care taken on it. The car is at the collision shop I work at in Addison, if that makes any difference.

My friend that has a 2007 GT 500 has a 2.8L Kenne Bell on it and is trying to find time to put the full exhaust on it.

It sits in his garage under a cover and has all of about 6k miles on it.

LOL, I figured they were just fucking with me because the thread is a little vague. I don't know the owner of the car, but thought I would let them know that it will be taken care of the best I can. I am, after all, the QUALITY control guy. The car is supposed to come to me last before it goes to the customer.

The guys I work with get mad at me sometimes for bringing back cars to be fixed because they are trying to deliver the car. I try to treat every car like it's my own car, and I like to think the customer appreciates it when they get their car back in as good, or better shape than when it was brought in.

Most of the time when I'm looking over a car, if it's got a scuff on the paint or something that I can take care of, I'll buff it out. Same goes with the interior. If it's a little dirty, I'll take a little extra time to clean the dash, steering wheel, door panels, etc. Of course, some cars that come in are a lost cause....you know, the kind of person that NEVER cleans their car, and leaves shit strewn all over the car.

We had a BMW 550i come in a while back that was just beat the fuck up, all the way around the car. Had a ton of papers just thrown in te floorboard. There was a banana peel in the passenger floor board that looked petrified, it had been in there so long ! I had to vacuum it out, so I moved all the papers and found an ATM receipt that had something like $17k as the balance in checking.

Just part of the job, the way I look at it. Too bad everyone doesn't have my views on that.

You just earned my business if I'm ever in need. I wish more people did business that way.

I just look at it like, if I were the customer, I would want, or rather expect, the person working on my car to take their time, do a good job, and actually give a shit about the work.

I do the same thing with my pinstriping, metal fabrication, etc. I want people to feel like they got a good deal, and great work done.

Damn, that sounds cheesy as hell. LOL !

Thanks though, Steve. I appreciate it.
