If you are a believer of the end of Mayan calendar in 2012 or the financial collapse causing martial law or just want to be prepared for the worst, this is a great deal. Costco is offering 4866 of dehydrated and freeze-dried food for $799.99 shipped.

I've heard a lot of ads on XM for similar products recently. They're pandering to the paranoid crowd.

True... I thought it was funny and it made me think of the tinfoil hat wearers on here, like Motoman.

I always have to laugh at people who think preparing themselves for the worst case scenario is for kooks. Just think of it this way. In the very slim chance something were to happen and affect your food supply. Just how fucked would most of you be? You'd be pretty damn fucked.

costco has been selling this for years, although it tends to be seasonal

Why wouldn't people have a reserve anyway? Take out this Mayan Calendar thing, End Times, Global Financial Crisis, elevating natural disasters, etc.

If people think times aregood, does that excuse a lack of being prepared for an emergency?

I don't like that it's all basic foods, not meals. So I gotta open several cans at once to have a meal.

Ya, they had better complete packages a while back. It looked like this, but also had complete family meal kits. 2 year supply for 6 people.

Just go get it. You can't stock up in these cracker box houses and expect to defend it! You will need a remote storage site.
