Jester, after my divorce- which was incredibly stressfull, I just wanted it quiet,and boring. For about a year I was content to work, reorganize & cleanup my life. I found the quiet routine quite restfull. I ate healthy food, worked out, walked 7 miles a day. After about 16 months I got tired of that & slowly started to work back into dating.

That's what im doin, man. Just trying to start a new life and get on with it.

I know youre far from home right now but try to stay busy and surround yourself with the friends you have up there.. I love how people try to fix problems with medications and it makes them worse off. Depression is a real thing... find out what depresses you about your life and change that. If that means a new job, a new place to live, a new gf/bf/ etc then do it. Instead, we just go get medicine and continue doing what made us depressed in the first place.

Best advice right here. Been there done that. Except for the more money part. 2 kids and paying for a 2 paycheck house with one paycheck. Just be glad you didn't have kids yet.

The biggest lesson I've learned is that you have to fix yourself. If you can't focus on bettering yourself it's going to be ugly. Talisman, White Trash Wagon and Treadhead have been down the road and I'm willing to bet they can all say things evened out a lot once they finally started to focus on their own betterment, and not killing themselves to fix "what was wrong in the relationship"... basically, THAT relationship is over. Done. As soon as SHE pulled the plug. Accept it. Now sort YOURSELF out and see what the future brings.
