I was in the office with an old supervisor of mine listening to him talk to a salesman about the dudes gf... supervisor told him "They're all fucked up, you just have to find one that's a little less fucked up than the rest".. funny but true.

You dont need a lawyer to exercise leverage. If he follows each step of my advice in order, she isn't going have a pot to piss in, let alone enough money to put a lawyer on retainer. With no kids, what else is there to argue about? Chances are only one of them can afford any housing property they own, split the cars, who gives a shit about the rest? Sure, I'm speaking out of my personal experience, but I walked away with nearly everything, and hardly any problems. Mental chess. Learn to play it.

I was super depressed after the split with my ex wife, which also came out of the blue, but she did have problems. I will only account for a small part of the blame in the failure, but it still sucked.

I remarried 5 years later and the divorce is one of the best things that happened to me. It took a better woman to show me all of the flaws I was overlooking in my ex wife due to love. I'm much happier in this marriage.

Wow.... I'm sorry to hear this.
This may be a sign that she isn't someone you can trust or the right person for you. Hurts now, but everything always happens for a reason. Good luck.

No kidding. Best advice here. If you don't have anything you're fighting over, it can be very cheap. Ex wife and I got papers online for $99 and paid $224 to Denton Co to file. And I had a daughter. I got the CS drawn up in the paperwork. On the other hand, I know a chick whose divorce dragged out a year and in the end ended up costing about $12k. If you contest anything, it's best just to go to mediation and then hire an atty afterward to draw up the paperwork. Lawyers are quite spendy.

And some county's will not recognize self representation. Lubbock county didn't for the longest time, Wilbarger too.

I'm a "get it done and wash my hands" person, so expediency to me may be different for others. I wouldn't want to even deal with her at this point.

hookers are cheaper than wives, period. I pay sluts to do my laundry in a cheerleader outfit and GTFO.

You can do your own, but in your situation I don't see any reason not to just grab a lawyer for a few hundred and have them push it through. If it costs a grand you are buying expediency.

You can do it quicker without a lawyer, unless she is contesting anything.
