A buddy of mine got layed off recently. He travels a lot for this company and is constantly out of town. He lives here in Texas and his Boss lives in California. Anyways..he went to Cali for a job for 2 weeks and then flew back to DF/W. Gets home and then recieves a text message to check his e-mail. He checks his e-mail and finds orders to head back to the Airport and await final orders. He gets there...goes through security check and waits for 2 hours before being greeted by his boss. The boss that he has only seen 2 diferent times through video conferencing. They get a drink at the bar and then his boss starts telling him that they need to trim the fat and he is not in their plans going forward. My buddy asked why did he not tell him that 3 hours ago and saved him the trouble. The boss replied that it has to be done f2f and this was the safest way seeing that he cannot get a gun/weapon through airport security.

my supervisor had no idea, it was upper management who laid me off. two others were let go that day as well i believe.

He probably knew. He just removed himself from the line of fire. It's funny when you're the one getting let go. All of the sudden no one gives a shit as long as it's not them without a job. ASk me how I know...lol.

I wouldn't doubt it one bit, he was always a chicken shit when his supervisor's would come in on our meetings.

Yeah but he could have at least left a message saying that he needed to talk to me or something! I still have a company vehicle and I'm half tempted to tell them to drive their ass out my way to pick it up, why should I do them any favors after this? God I am furious!

If you are not employed by them you are not insured to drive their vehicles, right?
