  • No job!

So yesterday during football I get a call on the cell, not recognizing the number I didn't answer. After listening to the voice mail it come to my attention that my coward ass boss just laid me off over a voice mail!!! Are you kidding me??? He claims that it wasn't me and that I did a great job, they just had to cut some corners! Anyone else think this is poor business etiquette?
    Wanna see my care face???

At least it wasn't a text message.

He only did it over voicemail because you didn't answer.

I think I'd burn a bridge over that.

Unless you work off site from your manager, there is no excuse for not doing it in person. Just my .02.

You should show up to work like you never got it. Make him do the actual laying off. Then when it is over, let him know you got the voicemail but you wanted to see if he could actually be a man and do it the right way.

Yeah but he could have at least left a message saying that he needed to talk to me or something! I still have a company vehicle and I'm half tempted to tell them to drive their ass out my way to pick it up, why should I do them any favors after this? God I am furious!

Sounds like a possible scenario for murder.

Take your personal vehicle up there when you go to work to get laid off that way they've still got to go get it.

Edit: If you're hourly they've still got to pay you for time that you were getting laid off. Just something to think about, if they're going to play games, let the games begin.
