Anyone know if Autobahn VW is mod friendly?

Meaning will they void warranty if the flash is on.

I'm just talking about a ecu reflash, no bolt ons.

    Would be APR if so.

I dunno, but I do know that Autobahn BMW wrecked some dude's near brand new M5 after a "test-drive" after an oil change, and refused to pay for it.

There's got to be more to that story.

There is alot more....like they offered to do a half ass repair, and tell him to shut up and like it........a $95,000 car destroyed and you just pissed when the customer refuses your bullshit offer to only fix some of the susp. damage ??

This is the prime reason to always be affraid to have you car work on by the dealership....they got deep pockets and good attorneys.

Yep. It wasn't enough damage to be totaled, but the guy was pissed because now he has a brand new M5 with damage that the dealership said they won't be responsible for because they supposedly aren't responsible for their tech's actions.

If that's anywhere true then I won't be using the dealer if I buy a car from there.

Here is the story on jalopnik:
An M5Board forum member took his 2007 BMW M5 to the dealer for brakes and fresh oil. Their 20-year-old tech crashed it during a test drive. The dealership's offering him $2500 in parts. The problem? There's $30,000 in damage.
                  .

edit: Here's a 165 pg thread about it, looks like the guy is suing and there's a court date pending:

My sister dated a guy a couple of times that worked there. He went out with some buddies and got all jacked up on liquor and blow (no hookers, apparently). Well, they decided to go "borrow" one of the cars from the lot. They went out and pretty much totaled a brand new 3-series, somehow got it back to the lot. They were going to play it off like they knew nothing about it, and that would have worked...had it not been for security camera footage.

I was a VW tech there for about 9 months. It all depends on what tech works on it. Iv still got a couple friends that work there so let me know if you need the name of a tech to ask for.

I work there in vw. There's a lot more to that m5 story. You can't judge a place based on the actions of one dumbass that dosent work there anymore.

Maybe not. But we can certainly judge the actions of the dealership for not owning up and fixing the problem.
If there part of the story that justifies their actions, please share.
