I can recall the day I lost my Dad. One of the worst days of my life. I think I know how you feel. There are days I want to talk to him, then remember he is gone. Its been six years.

Really sorry for your loss....sounds like your Dad was a great man...also likely a man who wouldn't want you to lose a step b/c of this loss. Take your time to grieve and then decide how you'll carry the baton and honor his legacy.
