Sure have gotten expensive. I noticed the DD drags a little when you try to start it if it has sat for a couple days. So I went up to interstate battery to get it checked out. It only had 290 cold cranking amps. What sucks is since I didn't have the receipt they went by the burn on date and not the damn sticker on the battery. This cost me an extra $30 bucks. Out the door was $115 bucks even with a $20 credit. What really pissed me off is the guy charged me to replace the battery without even asking me. I didn't realize it until after he gave me the receipt. He offered to refund me the money and I just laughed and said since your wearing Khakis and a nice shirt it will be worth the $14 bucks to watch you get dirty.

Batteries doubled in price about 3 or 4 years ago due to materials shortages, and gas prices going up to $5 a gallon. Batteries are heavy, and aren't cheap to ship. Add in a record temperature summer and the demand that went with it this year, and most batteries are $100-$125 right now. My paycheck thanks you all that needed one this summer.Comment
