Has anyone used and/or had success with a resume writing company?

I am trying to find a new J O B and want to maximize my chances to getting a call back from online submittals.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Don't waste your money on those resume writers. I just went online and searched for resumes from other professionals and structured mine after those. it worked well for me and it was free. good luck on your job search.

People who can't write a decent resume now-a-days with all the free help provided online crack me up. I always just thought lazy people were the ones who kept those sort of "companies" in business.

I would not call myself lazy or a person who could not write a decent resume. You could use the word frustrated and desperate though. It is knowing the key search words that particular companies and HR units look for that is the hard part.

I am already employed and ANY and every job I take back home is going to be a HUGE pay reduction. So I would say I have done pretty well for myself so far. I am just looking for that edge up.

                Is your company hiring?

Depending on what's an acceptable pay cut.....have you looked at Lockheed or Bell security jobs?

Most stuff I read says no objective...that's pretty obvious in itself.

Every job you submit for should have a tailored resume.

I looked at Lockheed but they are not listing any openings right now. I have not checked Bell yet. The problem is, most Security jobs that are not Information Systems are very low paying (10-13 an hour). I know enough about a computer to do my job plus some but nothing about firewalls, etc. My Security experience is more directed at keeping employees safe in an active war zone and conducting assessments on everything from facilities to entire camps and routes. I have done quite a bit of investigating and interviewing but on minor cases that did not get turned over to CID/OSI. If it was not theft it was nothing that HR could not/should not have done.

I was by no means meaning to infer that you are lazy, and I know some of the companies who are successful know all the HR hot-button buzzwords to throw into a resume.

My company is unfortunately not hiring

Even if we were, I wouldn't recommend coming to work here.

Does Lockheed not contract to allied Barton or something? I thought most defense contractors did...

I think they did at one point but went back to in house from what I've heard. Most do use contract guards though
