We just got back Monday night. Stayed at the Paris, and bounced around all over town. If you can go downtown and check out the Freemont. We had a ball. The sound system/light show is fantastic. Down by the Nugget/4 Queens/Binion's, there were live bands and all kinds of "side-shows" that are free. Don't stray too far from the action, cuz it gets rough pretty quick, but it's a different crowd from the strip and well worth the time.

If you like roast comics, Vinnie Favorito is awesome. You can get 2 VIP tickets for around $30 on Ebay before you go. They will either mail them or send them to your hotel if you get them from vegas4locals.

Go to Vegas4locals.com and look through their coupons and special event prices, too. I have a spreadsheet with a bunch of activities (free and some that cost) if you're interested.

Are you renting a car? If so, you have to go see the Valley of Fire.

          Have fun!

I actually saw that last year and it was awesome! I was blown away because I'm not really into that music at all...but those guys were impressive!

We are renting a car. I can't go anywhere without renting a car. Have that "independence" need I have to satisfy no matter where I'm at. We go to Disney a lot and I'll rent a car just to drive to the hotel and leave it parked the entire time we're there until it's time to go back to the airport. But if I need a car I've got it by golly! LOL

So what is this Valley of Fire place?

The side streets do scare me a little. Does Nevada have reciprosity (sp?) with Texas on CCL? I'll have to check that...

It's a history story on Elvis but the show is very upbeat and awesome to watch. To be honest i was skeptical but i came back impressed.

If your wife wants to see a "classic" show , then Bally's Jubilee is a good classic show, you may find it boring though. it is TOPLESS THOUGH....

when are you coming in? and how long?
That sounds like it's up our alley. We are staying at the Aria anyway so that might work great.

Not thinking the wife will do the topless show. Never hurts to ask though! LOL

I don't believe NV has reciprocity with Texas...

Yea, I found the same info. Sucks.

Figures though, a state with 14% unemployment and still reelects Harry Reid probably isn't going to like CCL laws.

I've attached a few pics from there. It's a scenic drive through the desert that is extremely impressive. If you do geocaching, they have some out there. I highly recommend it.

Oh, and since you have a car-go to the Shelby museum at the speedway.

Had dinner last night at American Fish at Aria...very expensive and my friends said it was some of the worst muscles they had ever had. Service was slow for such a small restaurant. I would avoid it, just a heads-up. It's one of their newer spots that they're pushing.

                              Excellent hotel though, nice choice.
