Air Hockey Table?

I'm thinking of getting rid of my pool table and replacing it with an air hockey table. I'm pretty sure I want an 8' one. I've looked at a few new ones online, and I know that I don't want a rinky-dink 4-in-1 Sears special. I want something equivalent to what you'd find in an arcade, but I'd love to avoid spending over $1000, if that's possible.

Anyone here have one? Are there certain brands to look for or stay away from? I'll probably try to find a nice used one, so what kind of things should I check for? Is there a brick and mortar store around the metroplex that would sell used ones, or am I stuck with craigslist?

don't have any info...

but i think having a air hockey table, or foosball, is way cooler than a pool table(had one in my apt before). i would love to have either one in my place now

plus they don't take up as much room when being played

^plus up to 4 people can play foosball at a time vs only 2 w/air hockey
(i know you can play 4 people w/ pool but it's not all at once)

I don't like foosball, but if I did, I could have a table in the same room as an air hockey table. I've always liked air hockey. I like pool, but I'm not very good, and the table takes up a ton of room in order to play. It's a little cramped where I have it now. They have 4-person air hockey tables, but that seems kind of lame, like you'd be fighting over anything that comes down the middle.

I had one as a kid, it was great. Start getting harcore and the puck gets airborn, so watch having lamps and pictures around it.
