A lot of smokers are not time card punchers, so it's still going to happen.
You must work at FedEx. Smokers will find a way to smoke regardless. Just like fatties will find a way to sneak a donut in their foot locker. Baylor is not giving smokers an option by not hiring them at all. My point was when do they stop. Isn't the real issue here the over inflated cost of healthcare.

Not when you work indoors chief. I used to work with an Indian guy who hardly ever bathed. He was the smelliest guy I have ever smelled with my smeller. His smell lingered in the air for hours after he finished his shift. Luckily for us, and I think they created this "rule" especially for this, HR told him he needs to bathe. Took care of that! Now we have this broad who smokes like a GD chimney and smells of Newports and cheap perfume. It truly is hard to breath around her...word on the streets is she smokes a pack a day.

I'm sorry sir, but obesity in general is a much bigger killer than smoking. At least right now. I remember in elementary school having that one or two fat kids in the grade that you tease (which I'm not proud of) but it seems like now that every other kid is fat.
          You need a cig bro?

The sun has set on smokers and their "rights", just like it has for unions and their contracts.

Insurance companies have higher premiums if the insured is a known smoker. They currently aren't charging higher premiums for fatasses. Simple as that.

LOL the smoking vs fat is funny, when the smokers stop smoking they tend to gain a lot of weight.Nicotine curbs z appetite.

I work with some Canadians that don't smoke and they have god awful body odor. I can't imagine a smoker smelling near as disgusting as these people.

I smoke only once most days at work and that is when I leave to go to lunch. I guarantee you being a smoker does nothing to my work performance.

My thoughts on the matter is that people need to mind their own business and go somewhere that smoking is not allowed. Simple enough.

This is completely understandable if your company covers health insurance.
