I find it funny you say it is a better all around phone in a thread that is about an iphone crapping out.

use google contacts in the future and you will never have to worry about your contacts on your computer or your phone. you live right next to me, i'll show you how if you want.

i cant access it from work so i cant post a link.
basically you just have to reconfigure your email/calendar/contacts settings using IMAP instead of the built in gmail connectivity.

It's a "undocumented feature". Apple's software testing is beyond shit. If I, or anybody that works for me wrote and published software as poorly functional as I(car)tunes, we would be laughed out of a job.

I like much of the iPhone and it's functionality, but iTunes and a few other pieces of code on here are total untested crap.

correct. itunes truly is a POS. it is the worst part of owning an apple anything.

iphone, iOS is pretty good and solid.

i prefer iOS to android 2.poo and 3.tree at this current point in time.

I own both Apple (iPhone 4) and Android (Nook Color running CM7) and overall i pefer the ease of use of the iOS, but the custimization of the Android platform.

At the end of the day I end up using my iPhone more than I do my Nook, just because of convenience.

Next time may i suggest setting your email account, i.e. gmail, to sync calander, contacts, and email.

I've had the same contacts in my phone for well over 11 years, and never lost one of them, unless I deleted it. Started syncing with Exchange, but now I just sync with gmail. As for the iphone/android debate, I'm now on a EVO, and I love the phone, i couldn't se going back to an iphone at this point.

google, "IMAP settings for gmail sync" for more.

But i think this is it.

You can add Gmail to other email clients, like Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, or Mozilla Thunderbird. When you add Gmail, your messages and labels are synced with the email client. Changes to Gmail
